Women of Diversity Dinner

Emily Kwok and Josie Mackie of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently attended the “Women of Diversity Dinner” held at the Emporium Function Centre in Bankstown, NSW on 28 July 2018. Both women attended because of their involvement in the Church’s public affairs.

The Church has been involved since 2016 as a partner with the various interfaith and community organisations, including the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and Muslim Women’s National Network of Australia, responsible for the annual “Women of Diversity Dinner.”

Both women had a wonderful time at this intercultural event as they met and interacted with women in Australia from many diverse religions from around the world. They took the opportunity to respond to questions about the Church that were posed to them during the evening.

Emily said of the event, “In addition to attracting women of various religious and cultural backgrounds, the majority of women are from refugee communities and are filled with a desire to interact and integrate with the wider community. It is not a daily opportunity to be able to engage with such a diverse group of exceptional women in an energetic, harmonious and pleasant setting. ”
