The Queensland heavyweight title was decided in Toowoomba in Queensland, on Saturday 4th November, with Will Nasio, a member of the Gold Coast Stake (diocese) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints winning the title.
He took on good friend and heavyweight contender Ene-Purcell, also from Toowoomba.
“With being such good friends,” said Will prior to the bout, “it made it such a weird fight. We both want the title and we both want to progress, so we had to put aside our friendship for 8 rounds, and then be friends again at the end of the fight.”
After a well fought match in the ring, it was Will that emerged victorious.
It was an eventful weekend for Will who blessed his baby at church the following day. Despite his impressive win, Will remarked, “Blessing my baby was a greater and more exciting experience than winning the QLD heavyweight title.”
