Trust and Hard Work Land Dream Job for Young Designer

Candice MacAllister, 23 years, designs costumes for large opera productions such as Cinderella, and The Snow Queen at the Victorian Opera. She attributes her success to trusting in the Lord and years of study and hard work.

Candice, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began her career as an administrative assistant after graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts, an extension of the University of Melbourne.

Within three months, she had achieved her five-year goal to design a small scale show for a professional company.

She says,"“My favourite scripture is Proverbs 3:5. Trusting in the Lord and always acknowledging Him, it Is something I’ve always tried to do.”

“There are so many things I thought I could never do, but when I put my trust and faith in my Saviour… I know it is going to be okay.”
