Effective 1 August 2011, two former members of the Area Presidency were reassigned. Elder Tad R. Callister, former Area President, will serve in the Presidency of the Seventy at Church headquarters in Salt Lake City. Elder Brent H. Nielson, former Second Counselor, has been called to be First Counselor in the Philippines Area Presidency.
Elder James J. Hamula has been called to be President of the Pacific Area. He formerly served as First Counselor in the Area Presidency. Elder Kevin W. Pearson and Elder F. Michael Watson have been called as First and Second Counselors, respectively, to Elder Hamula.
