Keeping the Faith: Religious Diversity in Australia

'The Devoted' is a series consisting of environmental portraits of leaders of diverse faiths within their places of worship.

Photographer Michael Wickham’s goal was to photograph leaders of varying religious organisations in their religious space of worship. Bishop Faivre, leader of the uniquely designed ward building in Leura of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was asked to participate in the Australian photo essay. Michael's goal was to explore the way the leaders and spaces come together to worship. He wanted to explore the diversity of beliefs and celebrate the fact that these vastly different faiths can co-exist respectfully within the same society.
