'I’m a Mormon’ Campaign Puts Latter-day Saint on Radio Talk Show

Lorin Nicholsen, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, who is spotlighted in the Brisbane "I'm a Mormon" campaign, was a recent guest of commentator Bernadette Young on ABC Radio Coast FM 91.7.

Lorin is a father, singer, motivational speaker, and renowned Australian cyclist. He has been legally blind since birth. Ms Young asked him to explain the motivation behind the ads and the billboards on display in Queensland.

"Studies show that the general public perception of the Church—its teachings and its people—have been misunderstood," Nicholson said.

"This campaign is an effort to break down some of those misunderstandings and let people know we are Christians and very approachable people."

When asked how he feels about being in the limelight created by the advertising, Lorin responded, "I think every one of us needs to question what we believe and what we are prepared to stand by as the tenets of our faith and our character. That's who I am."'
