Hometown Support for Todd Hodgetts

Paralympian from Tasmania Feels the Love

Todd Hodgetts, known as “The Hulk,” is leading the Australian shot put squad at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.  He is the current world record holder in Paralympic shot put and will be defending his gold medal from the London 2012 Olympic Games. His event is scheduled for Saturday night in Rio.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints currently living in suburban Melbourne. Todd was born in Tasmania and still considers it his home.

ABC News reported on his appreciation of fan support from home: “I'd like to say 'hi' to my fans in Tasmania.”

When asked how many fans he had back in his home state, Hodgetts beamed, “The whole state, everyone loves me." His many friends and fans in Victoria and across Australia feel the same way.
