Foodbank NSW Receives Service from Mormon Helping Hands

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Doonside congregation (ward) participated in a  Mormon Helping Hands Day at Foodbank NSW warehouse.

Families of all ages sorted produce and packed Christmas hampers from 8am to 2pm.

Foodbank NSW  is the largest hunger relief charity in Australia. Foodbank NSW supports over 2500 community organisations and 600 schools around Australia.

Bishop Siaosi Hansen said "It was a great opportunity and a fun time".

The Mormon Helping Hands program brings together members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and their neighbours to provide community service.

These volunteers in their trademark yellow shirts help people whose lives have been affected by natural disasters and other emergencies.

Mormon Helping Hands volunteers also partner with government and nonprofit organizations to support and improve the communities where they live.
