Christmas Lights and the Life of Jesus Christ Shine Again

Mormon Church highlights the Life of Christ through art, Christmas lights, and film

Once again, the grounds of the Sydney Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located on the corner of Pennant Hills and Mosely Street in Carlingford, NSW, have been decorated with 140,000 Christmas lights and a life-size nativity scene for the Christmas season.

Additionally, a fine-art display of 24 paintings and a video of events from the life of Jesus Christ is being shown in the neighbouring building, Buckland House. The public is invited to tour the Christmas display free of charge right through until 3rd January from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. .

Nearly 10,000 visitors enjoyed the colourful lights and art exhibit last year.  This year marks the 26th year the display on the Sydney Temple grounds has been offered as a gift to the community.  “I look forward to going to this every year.  It’s a wonderful way to get in the spirit of the Christmas season. It’s so beautiful with all the different coloured lights,” Daphne Hafoka said enthusiastically.

“I really enjoy the Christmas carols playing in the background.  It’s so nice to hum along while looking at the displays," said Fiona Alexander.

All are invited to enjoy this festive Christmas presentation.
