RootsTech 2016 Keynote Speaker Announced

Doris Kearns Goodwin, a world-renowned Pulitzer Prize-winning author, hailed by New York magazine as "America's historian-in-chief,” will be among the keynote speakers at RootsTech 2016. 

RootsTech is the world’s largest family history event, with world-class speakers, over 200 engaging classes for all skill levels, and a huge expo hall featuring over 150 vendors.  RootsTech 2015 attracted 24,000 in-person attendees and an additional 128,000 online viewers.  

RootsTech 2016 will take place in Salt Lake City 3-6 February 2016, and as in past years, there will be live streaming of several sessions of the conference on the RootsTech website. Once the conference is over, recordings of these sessions will be posted on the website for a limited time (generally until the next RootsTech conference).  The Rootstech 2015 video archive can be found here. Topics include DNA testing for ancetry research, writing your own personal history, and using online archives and tools.

Rootstech 2016 will also feature a challenge for software developers and entrepreneurs to compete for a share of $100,000 in total cash and in-kind prizes provided by industry and national sponsors. Details here.
