Foster Parents Choose to Care

Foster parents Glenn and Jan Smith of Adelaide are featured in a recent video by Families SA about the joy they find in being foster carers to children with special needs.

Glenn is not only a caring foster parent, but also the bishop of the Fulham Gardens congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glenn and Jan raised six of their own children and decided providing a stable home environment for special needs children was something they could do. Glenn puts it this way, “I believe many more people could be foster carers. If you love caring for children, have a spare bedroom and a desire to help, do what we did – make enquiries, look into it, and choose to (foster) care.”
