Deacon

An office of responsibility in the Aaronic Priesthood generally held by young men ages 12 to 13. Deacons help distribute the sacrament (similar to communion) to Church members during Sunday worship services. Deacons may also assist congregational leaders in caring for those in need and help take care of Church meetinghouses and grounds.

In local congregations, deacons are organized by quorums where young men hold positions of leadership, have activities and support one another in their efforts to follow Jesus Christ.
