Australian Latter-day Saint Cycles 1,200km for Children with Cancer

Sue Frost, along with a team of 24 other cyclists from Canberra, recently traveled to Denmark to participate in the ‘Annual Team Rykenby Challenge.’

More than 20 teams and 1,200 riders cycled 150 to 200km a day for a week to raise millions of dollars for charities which support children with cancer.

Sue, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said, “It was a great privilege to work with my team to raise money for kids with cancer. So many families face heart-breaking and terrifying challenges when they have a child with cancer.”

“The few times when I felt tired, or found the wet conditions tough,” she said, “I just thought about those kids and their parents, struggling with the difficulties cancer brings, and it made my temporary physical suffering seem small, and gave me the strength to keep going.”

The $130,000 raised by the team will be used specifically in Australia.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are involved in charitable work around the world, in 182 countries.
