Australia is Finally Home to Former Refugee

Orginally from Liberia, Charles Kawa is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attends the Dapto congregation in the Macarthur Stake (Diocese). He and his wife Comfort have been residing in Australia since 2008 after spending 10 years in a refugee camp.

Having just received 100% on his Australian Citizenship exam, Mr Kawa commented, "I just hoped if there was a country that God would want me to go I would be very happy to go there."

Mr Kawa featured in the Illawarra Mercury recently and is pictured below with Benita Handrews and Jay Windso who have been helping refugees for the past 5 years. Read full article here.
